SEL:Social Emotional Learning
Ages 3 – 9
Emotion control
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) can be thought of as teaching kids how to become “emotion management masters” and “social pros.” Imagine a child who can stay calm when their friend takes their toy or when the teacher assigns homework (well, at least they might stay a bit calmer). SEL helps kids recognize their emotions and manage those “I’m mad, but I won’t throw my toy” moments.
Everyday success
In the end, SEL doesn’t just help kids do well in school—it helps them become cooler in everyday life. After all, who wouldn’t want to be a “life superhero” who can manage emotions, ace social situations, and make smart decisions?.
Social skills
SEL also turns kids into social experts, effortlessly navigating the tricky question of “Who’s my best buddy today?” Through learning, they become more empathetic, basically overflowing with kindness! And when faced with challenges, they’ll use their “emotion ninja skills” to make responsible decisions, instead of acting impulsively—like performing an “angry bird” impression in front of the whole class.
